4 WEEKS BEFORE THE MOVE

• Have a moving company booked for your move as soon as you have finalized a moving date. Aleks Moving Inc. can also provide an estimate for packing your home.
• Aleks Moving Inc. can provide boxes and other moving supplies for your big day.
• Sort through items and riding of things you don’t need by donating or having a garage sale. Aleks Moving Inc. can donate or junk away any unwanted furniture or appliances.
• Begin sorting through items from storage, attic, shed, basement and garage.
• Rid of unwanted items by hosting a garage sale or donating to local thrift stores.
Notify your bank, insurance companies, utilities, subscriptions, online services and all other organizations of your change of address

1 WEEK BEFORE THE MOVE

• If you have decided to pack you own stuff, pack all non- essential items and be sure to label all moving boxes with contents and room name.
• Call your movers to confirm details for your move date.
• Schedule to have utility disconnects for home phones, water, gas and electric. Schedule to have new connection in your new home.
• Pack a small bag of necessities including snacks for your last day. DAY OF THE MOVE
• Empty freezer/refrigerator.
• Be sure to have all your stuff packed or in bags prior to movers showing up.
• Make a double sweep through your home making sure you have everything ready to go.
• Have enough cash for the road and to pay your movers.
• Say goodbye to neighbours!
